70 year old to row 300 miles

70 year old, Nigel Worth, is rowing a home-made boat from North Wales all the way to the centre of London. Nigel from Ruthin, North Wales, launched his craft into the fast-flowing waters of the River Clwyd in St Asaph, planning to row about eight miles a day for the next month. Nigel hopes to arrive around October 11.

The trip is to raise money for the charity Swazaid which helps children in Swaziland who have lost their parents through AIDS. Nigel became aware of the desperate situation there when he visited a friend, and saw the efforts being made.
