More people choose to work past retirement age
Figures released by the Office for National statistics show more people working after retirement age than ever before.
1.192 million people choose to work past retirement age. 401,000 men over 65 and 791,000 women over 60 are in work. This means just under 11 per cent of potential pensioners are choosing to stay in work.
If you are interested in working later, and want to put off your State Pension, for a larger income or a taxable lump sum, you can find out more in our State Pension Deferral section
